The properties of textiles in, for example, convertible tops, seats, or parachutes, require a high level of precision in a simulation. Developments in this field are very test intensive, as reliable estimates of behavior are nearly impossible.
Through a new simulation technique we developed, we can reliably report conditions for the textile and the seams, for anything from cutting up to the loaded structure. We can also make predictions about wrinkling, such as when attached to foam, structural behavior, or a sail under wind loading.
